Minutes of meeting: December 2, 2008
Attending: Maureen Banner, Dianna Downing, John Heffernan, Laury Epstein, Kathryn Roberts, Joel Schick
1. We discussed the notion of producing another Photo Contest and Show, which was such a popular event in 2007. This was the first preliminary discussion; we limited ourselves to thinking about scheduling the event for Memorial Day weekend (as in 2007) or Labor Day weekend (our trademark date, and one that allows people the full summer to take pictures specifically for the show). Much more to come, after the urgency of the Grant Cycle is past.
2. Most of the meeting was spent reviewing our tentative decisions from the November meeting, deciding how much we’d like to award each recipient, and trying to make the grant amount match the $4100 we get from the State. We actually did it. Dianna and Joel volunteered to send out the rejection letters, to obviate another council meeting this month.
Next meeting: Early January--just have a nice holiday meanwhile. We’ll review the grant decisions, send out the acceptance letters, and start to make plans for workshops and performances for the winter season.
